Judy served in WW2 as a ship’s dog, where she proved invaluable due to her ability to hear incoming aircraft. Faced with adversity at every turn, Judy survived two shipwrecks, was stranded on a desert island, narrowly avoided being attacked by a crocodile, and was the only dog ever officially listed as a Prisoner Of War. Despite all of this, on countless occasions, she saved the lives of members of the crew she served with and was deservedly awarded a Dickin Medal in 1946.
