These beautiful enamelware pieces are handmade in Kashmir, India. The group that we support is one of the oldest in Kashmir, formed in 1890 and is still family run today. Specialising in papier mache the group added in steel painting in 2011. 

There are 47 workers in total and many are second or third generation artisans. Only lead free paints and food grade stainless steel bases are used. 

It takes roughly 10 days to create each piece as each has an amazing 8 layers of work needed! That's why our range of enamleware can go in the dishwasher and is build to last. Beware of the cheaper ones out there, which often have only a layer or two of paint.
