Denver's Mountain Lions took the diamond in 1886, suiting up for Western League baseball when Colorado was still a young state. Frontier towns were building culture one institution at a time, and baseball clubs gave cities like Denver something to rally around. Every squad that played helped lay the groundwork for the game out West.
Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
