For sale here is a Bob Summers Model 856 bamboo rod in near mint condition, having been fished very sparingly. 8 feet in length for a 5 or 6 line. Serial #22578 made in 1978. Darkly flamed. Exquisitely wrapped brown silks blend seamlessly with the flamed cane. Garrison/cigar style grip. Bright aluminum pocketed cap and ring reel seat over cork. Elegant Walnut cork check. Super-Z style ferrules. Excellent ferrule fit, size 14/64. The rod has a lovely dry-fly action. Both tips are dry fly tips as opposed to a wet and a dry tip which Bob usually delivered with his 856 models. The rod weighs 4 1/8 oz. Original bag and tube included, as well as a copy of a provenance email from Bob describing the rod's origin.
