Description:
POISON FRUIT", a masterpiece by Ivan Conti, the drummer/percussionist behind Azimuth and respected worldwide as a genre-defying groove master, including collaborations with Madlib, is now available exclusively at Record Store Day 2020 with additional previously unreleased material! The original album "POISON FRUIT" is now available as a Record Store Day 2020 Limited Edition item! The original album "POISON FRUIT" is a splatter disc of poisonous colors as its name suggests, and "Katmandu" and "Ninho", which were recorded in the original sessions but never released, are included on 7INCH in this very limited item! As the drummer/percussionist of the famous Brazilian fusion band Azimuth, a treasure of the rare groove world, Mamawon has been responsible for the unique grooves of Azimuth. The groove he creates is called "SAMBA DOIDO" (meaning "crazy samba"). He uses samba instruments such as tamborines and pandeiro on his drum set, and fuses samba with jazz and space-age electronic music. In 2008, he released the album "Sujinho" under the name "Jackson Conti" with Madlib. His original grooves have attracted not only Brazilian music fans and rare groove fans, but also hip-hop and other club music fans. Although it is not well known, Mamão was a member of the Young Stars, a band active in the Joven Guarda movement, and experimented with tape delay and other techniques before joining Azimuth. This is a big deal because it is the first solo album in a long time by Mamawong, a legend who embodies such a diverse musical style. It has been 22 years since his last album, "Pulsar," was released in 1997.Mamawon's unparalleled musicality, which has greatly evolved over the past 30 years, is condensed here in his collaborations with the new Azimuth, reborn in 2016, and the aforementioned Madlib, as well as with post-rare groove values and the increasingly cross-over and genre-less beat music world. Mamawong's unparalleled musicality is condensed here. In addition, many of the tracks on this album are closer to the world of house/techno, and London-based producer Daniel Moennick, a.k.a. Docta Venom, was also involved in the production.Nathaniel Rateliff, his third solo project in about 7 years!Around 2017, he began writing songs originally intended as a second album under the name The Night Sweats, which continued to be the most understanding and supportive about his divorce and his own solo project. The songs evolved into a more personal project due to his divorce and the illness and death of his closest band member (Richard Swift), who had been his most supportive and understanding partner in his solo project. This is a limited edition LP in Coke Bottle Green color!
