In the face of terrorist attacks, Israel, although it has the recognized right to defend itself, cannot find a way to act that guarantees the protection of civilians. Which brings us back to the Bible: “When a man strikes a pregnant woman in a fight between men... if there is injury, he shall pay life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, cardinal for cardinal” (Exodus 21: 22-25). The Nazi Holocaust motivated the newly born UN to divide Palestine into two territories to locate there the Jews scattered throughout Europe. It was on November 29, 1947. Then, on May 14, 1948, the State of Israel was created. The Arabs of the surrounding countries did not accept it. Since then, wars have not ceased. Neither have the UN resolutions, which have been broken with great ease. Conflicts have always continued, awaiting the creation of a Palestinian state that is difficult to fit in. Israel is now a powerful state, technologically and militarily. With the wars, it has taken over almost all of Palestine, only the Gaza Strip remains outside. Terrorism, as almost always, dominates the situation, while the suffering Palestinian people, used by some and by others, awaits a solution that does not come.
