Regarded as one of the largest steamboats, she was built in 1994 by McDermott Shipyard and launched a year later, an endeavor with a price tag of some $60 million. Constructed with 222 staterooms, the 418 feet long and 89 feet 4” high American Queen can accommodate 436 passengers and a crew of 160.
