The Nike Structure line of running shoes was introduced to market in 1991. Since then, the franchise has provided over 25 different marquee designs, modifying cushioning solutions and stability setups to ensure athletes in need of more support when in motion have it.
Today, the Swoosh has unveiled an update to its storied series with the introduction of the Nike Structure Plus.
As is the case with the Pegasus Plus and Vomero Plus, the newest Structure provides an enhanced ride to the standard Structure 26. Its biggest update arrives in the form of a dual-cushion setup that couples ZoomX and ReactX foams together for an amped up, comfortable underfoot sensation. The two different types of foams enable higher energy return with every stride, ensuring everyday training sessions and weekend long runs alike are easier on the body.
"We saw an opportunity to bring more cushioning and a more fun, energetic ride to stability shoes. That’s where the ‘Plus’ really comes in," said Ashley Campbell, Expert Product Line Manager, Nike Running Footwear. "With ZoomX foam appearing alongside ReactX for the first time in our Structure line, the Structure Plus delivers a softer, more responsive ride while maintaining the support runners expect."
The Structure Plus features a 32-millimeter stack height in the forefoot and 42-millimeter stack height in the heel, creating a 10mm drop. The innovative mid-foot support system introduced in the Structure 26 is featured on the Plus, working in-tandem with engineered uppers and plush construction around the tongue to deliver a footwear style that performs.
