Coming from a site just north of Los Olivos, the 2022 P2KV Syrah Rodney's Vineyard has a singular nose of peppery red and blue fruits, bouquet garni, leather, and honeyed flowers. This carries to a medium to full-bodied, voluptuous, opulent beauty that has some serious heft, a great mid-palate, soft tannins, and a great, great finish. Based on 90% Syrah and a whopping 10% Marsanne, this singular, exotic, brilliant Syrah should have a solid 10-15 years of prime drinking. The 10% Marsanne really gives this an exotic character aromatically, as well as a more viscous, opulent mouthfeel.
