18th century Italian candlestick base with a prehistoric geode, amonites, chalcedonian rosettes and surrounded by antique metal foliage. The piece is mounted onto an agate slice. 

The piece originally came from Tuscany and was part of a altar candlestick in a church. It is hand-carved and hand-painted

The elements create a piece that looks as though it evolved together over time -  interpreting the past to create a piece entirely original, evolving in its own right.
