Audiovector QR 7 - The flagship with dynamics and musical surplus

QR 7 SE is Audiovector's new flagship in the QR series, and it has been designed with a very clear purpose - to make listening to music fun again! Its big and lively sound transports you to the concert hall or nightclub of your dreams. This is an incredibly versatile speaker that gives you the opportunity to listen to everything from rock to classical music, and its downward-firing Q-reflex port makes it possible to place it closer to the wall than conventional speakers. So even though the QR 7 SE is a large speaker, it is still living-room friendly and capable of delivering award-winning sound even in smaller rooms. The SE series offers significant improvements

Compared to its predecessor, the new SE model offers even more open, dynamic and detailed sound reproduction. It is a very clear and audible improvement that is easy to hear in an A/B demonstration.

The improvements in the SE series include, among other things, a new crossover with better properties in the bass and midrange response frequencies. All internal wiring is now cryogenically treated, having been frozen down to as low as -236 degrees. The new high-precision vibration-optimized capacitors have even been double cryogenically treated to reduce resistance and improve signal transmission. The result is a high-precision component that enhances the treble range.

Audiovector has also improved the damping inside the cabinets using NanoPore™, which until now has only been used in the most exclusive and far more expensive Audiovector models. The SE series has had its damping factor optimized, which improves dynamic and aperiodic performance. They have also received new precision-milled spikes with a knurled lock nut for easy adjustment.

Powerful and extremely refined

While the QR 7 has an enormous, room-filling sound, it is also an extremely refined speaker that has been developed, engineered and handcrafted at Audiovector's headquarters here in Denmark. It has dynamic and musical capability, and it also features the latest in speaker technologies in order to deliver exceptional performance.

The QR 7's impressive cabinet houses two massive 8" Pure Piston drivers and a newly developed crossover, which combine to create a hyper-dynamic, neutrally voiced speaker with a large and open soundstage. It is a full 3-way system with dual Pure Piston bass drivers with sandwich diaphragms, a 6-inch midrange, and Audiovector's fast and agile Air Motion Transformer tweeter. Because of its easy impedance load and high efficiency of 90.5dB, it is exceptionally easy to drive. That makes the QR 7 SE a perfect match with both solid state and tube amplifiers.

The perfect speaker for everything

One of Audiovector's hallmarks is that they design their own drivers and then have the best suppliers build them. In this way, they ensure that they co-design their drivers in combination with their crossovers. The combination of low-hysteresis voice coil technology, large powerful magnets, rigid turbulence-damping baskets, and sandwich diaphragms made of two layers of aluminum gives them the ability to create a richer, clearer and more lively sound.

Designed for strength and elegant aesthetics

The QR 7 SE's cabinet has been generously braced and made from high-density hardwood (HDF) to create the perfect combination of superior strength, low resonance and elegant aesthetics. The tweeter front plates are made from a single piece of aerospace-grade aluminum. They are precision-machined, glass-blasted, brushed, and then anodized in a beautiful tungsten titanium gray color. The rose-gold-plated dispersion mesh acts as an S-Stop filter and improves driver integration.
