Kuro (black) tomesode is the highest ranked kimono in Japan. I used one whole kuro-tomesode kimono for this relaxed fit dress in order to preserve the breathtakingly beautiful pattern on the original kimono. The pattern which starts from right side of the dress is just like a piece of artwork.

Hena Hena's creations are upcycled with vintage silk kimonos which are imported from Japan and they are carefully unpicked by myself. I mainly use kimonos from 1950s and before. Because of their age of fabrics there could be some flaws like small marks, pinholes and color fade etc. but they have incredibly graceful taste that only vintage kimonos have.
