La Riqueza, once a regular production line for Tatuaje, is again shipping to stores, but only for a limited time.

Tatuaje has started shipping two new versions of the La Riqueza SE, a limited edition version of a modified blend that debuted in a single size in 2022. For 2024, there are two wrapper versions of a 6 3/4 x 44 Cazadores vitola: the La Riqueza SE 2024 is covered in a Connecticut broadleaf rosado wrapper, while the La Riqueza SE 2024 Tuxtla is made with a Mexican San Andrés wrapper. Internally, the cigars are the same: a binder and filler combination of tobaccos that are grown in Nicaragua. Like most Tatuaje cigars, they are made at My Father Cigars S.A. factory in Nicaragua.

Tatuaje introduced La Riqueza in 2008, and the line eventually grew the line to 13 different vitolas—in both box-pressed sizes as well as rounder cigars sold under the Cabinet name—all made with the same blend: a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper covering both a binder and filler tobaccos from Nicaragua. In 2017, the company removed La Riqueza from its price list and informed retailers that the cigars would no longer be regularly offered for sale, though La Riqueza was not entirely discontinued. Just four years later, the company showed off the La Riqueza SE during the 2021 PCA Convention & Trade Show. It was described as a tweaked version of the blend that made it slightly stronger compared to the original releases. That cigar turned out to be the La Riqueza SE 2022, a 5 5/8 x 54 parejo with a covered foot. Tatuaje made 45,000 cigars in 2022 but did not do a subsequent release next year.

Skipping 2023 lines up with what Johnson told halfwheel: he plans to offer a new version of the La Riqueza SE every two years.
