Bu kitapta Prof. Dr. Esen Onat, üç boyutlu geometrik asal formları kullanarak ve işleyerek mimari formlar üretme sürecindeki temel teknikleri ve yaklaşımları sistematik bir şekilde ortaya koymakta ve örneklemektedir.

Bir yapının kitlesel formu, işlevsel, mekânsal, tinsel, simgesel ve anlamsal yüklemler taşıyan, mimari ürünün fiziksel ve toplumsal çevresiyle ilişkisini belirleyen çok yönlü bir olgudur. Bu nedenle form kararı, mimarların en hassas olduğu konulardan biridir.

Tüm formların temel geometrik şekillerden türetilebileceği düşünüldüğünde, bu çalışmanın başlıca amacı, herkesin bildiği asal geometrik formları işleme ve kullanma tekniklerini tanıtmak ve geçmişten günümüze değişen ihtiyaçlara, teknolojilere ve eğilimlere rağmen bu formların benzer tekniklerle kullanıldığını örneklemektir.

The mass form of a building is a multifaceted phenomenon that carries functional, spatial, spiritual, symbolic, and semantic attributes, shaping its relationship with both the physical and social environment. For this reason, it is one of the most critical concerns for architects.

Given that all forms can be derived from fundamental geometric shapes, this study primarily aims to introduce the basic techniques for processing and utilizing these universally recognized geometric forms. Additionally, it seeks to demonstrate that, despite evolving needs, technologies, and trends over time, these geometric primitives have consistently been applied using similar techniques throughout history.
