About CairnBrae
Nestled in the heart of the Angus Countryside 3 miles North of Dundee, CairnBrae Natural Burial Ground offers you and your family a more personal and tranquil alternative to a traditional burial.
You will receive a natural resting place for your loved one, in an attractive habitat for wildlife: a peaceful space for your family to experience a more memorable and reflective end-of-life gathering.
Families have the option of planting a tree of remembrance on the grave or at selected locations within the burial ground. We offer many options from full burial lairs which can accommodate a full interment placed under longterm protection and preservation and if required you can facilitate the interment of ashes. Alternatively we have a dedicated area solely for the interment of ashes. Our vision is to create a nature-rich woodland which eventually covers the whole site, where each tree becomes a living and breathing legacy. The woodland will be developed gradually and in harmony with the existing ecosystem by planting only native trees.
CairnBrae Natural Burial Ground is a member of The Association of Natural Burial Grounds, the only organisation to monitor natural burial grounds in the UK, and we adhere to their Code of Conduct. The Natural Death Centre is a helpful source of information for those researching a natural burial.
We are always happy to meet you to discuss your needs and show you around the burial ground and will be there on the day of the funeral to help you navigate this difficult time. Should you wish to arrange a visit, call us on 07515287722 or email us via our contact form.
